Favorite human character
➟ Jody MillsLet me tell you what I love about Jody Mills.
I love that she’s in a position of power in a male-dominated profession, and she doesn’t apologize or back down about being good at her job; she does her duty and gives none of the fucks what anyone thinks about it.
I love that she has her own demons she grapples with, but after “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid” she learns her lessons and never again lets her personal trauma hold her back from getting the job done.
I love that she has lost everyone that ever mattered to her, and she still gets the job done.
I love that even though she’s a cop, she understands getting the job done means sometimes you have to bend the rules.
I love that the will to solve and fix and protect runs so deep in her veins that even when she’s doped up out of her mind in a Levi-hospital she can’t help but need to save people.
I love that even though her son’s been dead for years at this point, she’s still a mother, still able to put unruly children like Sam Winchester in their place with the power of her “mom voice”.
I love that she has a crush on Bobby Singer, but when he dies she doesn’t break apart, she’s not forced into a weeping scene in her underwear; she gets a scene where she and Sam drink a handle of Rufus’s whiskey and solve stuff.
Jody has all the hunter potential Victor Henrickson ever did without any of his callousness. She’s a Momma Bear like Ellen without all the anger and codependency. She’s not healthy, by any stretch of the imagination — I mean, why does she have a crush on Bobby Singer, after all — but she’s strong and clever and fierce and, oh yeah, really, really pretty.
So basically: FUCK YEAH JODY MILLS
JODY MILLS FOR LIFE
Thanks,really.
And as you mentioned in another post of yours, she is one of the few characters who befriends Sam instead of Dean. (Well...
Jody does not get enough love, seriously. Maybe she’ll stick up for us and use the ‘mom voice’ on Cole for being so mean...
